The Role

The Project Manager will manage and be responsible for renewable and inter-island cable installation projects within the Subsea Services department around the UK and North West Europe. The successful candidate will coordinate project-related tasks while providing technical expertise and managing and leading a broad range of sub-contractors, as well as operational and technical teams. There will also be the opportunity to work on other offshore construction projects including transformer installation and blade recovery etc.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Managing project scopes as part of major offshore and onshore subsea cable projects
  • Reporting to the Senior Project Manager and leading Project Engineers in your project team
  • Providing engineering input from initial assessment through to technical and economic feasibility
  • Reviewing and preparing technical and non-technical reports to a high standard including specifications, reports, proposals, calculations and contracts
  • Providing support on technical tenders, business development and client relations as required
  • Ensuring environmental and archaeological compliance is being adhered to
  • Attending client and site visits as required
  • Working effectively on several projects concurrently to deliver to tight deadlines
  • Supporting and mentoring the career development of junior team members
  • Attending vessel mobilisation & de-mobilisations, and various site operations including site visits, cable load-ins, shore end pull-ins and work on the vessels as part of the offshore team
The Candidate
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline – preferably Marine/Engineering/Renewable Energy/Environmental
  • Good analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and language skills in English (written and spoken)
  • A hands-on approach, a strong team player and a professional attitude towards health & safety and the environment
  • Willing to work offshore for periods of time as part of the offshore team
