Work Type: 4 days in office, 1 day from home

Salary: Up to £60k dependent on experience

Reporting to: Head of Governance


The Role:

You will have exposure to a wide variety of legal disciplines including mergers and acquisitions, company law, contract reviews, residential property compliance, data protection, technology, intellectual property, disputes, claims and insurance. In doing so, you will liaise regularly with external counsel, plus internal and external stakeholders in order to safeguard and advance the company's legal and business interests as the company continues to grow at pace.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Head of Governance to ensure compliance with industry laws and regulations, identify legal risks, devise mitigation strategies, and update internal policies as needed.
  • Standardize contract management, assist in contract preparation, review, negotiation, and provide guidance on contractual obligations and implications.
  • Manage litigation and disputes, instruct external counsel when needed, and apply effective case management across multiple workstreams.
  • Support due diligence in mergers, acquisitions, and strategic transactions, including the integration of acquired assets.
  • Protect the company's intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights, and ensure their ongoing maintenance.
  • Provide legal assistance to Facilities, Finance, Operations, and Marketing teams on operational issues, including CCJ notifications, debt agency inquiries, GDPR, and SARs for AML.
  • Offer basic HR support aligned with the company’s policies and procedures to the central HR team.
  • Assist the Head of Governance in investigating and responding to legal actions that could impact the company’s credit rating, brand, reputation, or financial standing.
  • Regularly review the GDPR policy to ensure alignment with digital marketing strategies and internal practices.
  • Provide general legal support, analyze complex legal issues, and communicate clear, actionable advice to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as needed to ensure the smooth running of the group.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Corporate legal experience, 2-3 years minimum
  • CILEX Level 6 (Completed or studying towards)
  • Organized and methodical approach
  • Ability to work on multiple issues simultaneously
  • Confident working autonomously and advising across the business
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Expert attention to detail
