Keltbray Infrastructure are looking for a Sustainability Manager (Carbon) to lead on the delivery of our Carbon Reduction Plan on high profile major projects across Highways, Rail, Energy and Renewable sectors.


Supporting leaders and project teams alike, the successful candidate will be proficient in communicating to make our Net Zero by 2040 target tangible and engaging at all levels. The Sustainability Manager (Carbon) will be a key point of contact with our projects, procurement leads, design teams, facilities managers etc providing guidance and direction in climate change and GHC emissions alongside circular economy and efficiency principals.


We are ideally looking for someone with experience within the infrastructure construction industry to help develop innovative solutions across our value chain; but a passion for change, desire to learn and ability to inspire are most important.


Location is flexible and although ideally based at our Preston Brook (Runcorn) office, the role can be based at any of our main offices in Crewe or Nottingham with the ability to travel nationally as and when required for workshops, training etc.


Key responsibilities include


  • Leading on the implementation of the carbon reduction plan
  • Internal reporting of emissions and progress against targets
  • Delivering training and awareness relating to Carbon Management and associated tools
  • Working across our value chain, with Clients, projects and supply chain to improve scope 3 reporting and reduce emissions
  • Providing expert advice, e.g. facilitating design workshops
  • Seeking out opportunities, being inquisitive and challenging to bring in ideas and solutions
  • Supporting bid winning with technical input
  • Developing networks, empowering change agents and promoting sustainability agenda internally and externally
  • Supporting with assurance and external audits


Key requirements



  • Good knowledge of carbon (GHC) management (science and application) including a working understanding of GHC reporting and accounting across all scopes including regulatory reporting
  • Passion for the subject, driving innovation and an ability to influence others
  • Degree in a relevant subject
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Hands on approach
  • Experience within relevant industry
  • Membership of a professional body


Beneficial


  • A working understanding of PAS2080 and/or ISO150001
  • Experience with circular economy principals
  • Wider understanding of environmental sustainability
  • Experience in GHC reporting and accounting across all scopes
  • Ability to provide thought leadership and networking with clients / stakeholders
