SEN Teaching Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable SEN Teaching Assistant to join the SEN team at a primary school in South London, where you will provide invaluable support to students in Years 4 and 5 with Speech and Language needs.

  • Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Hours: 8:30am to 1:30pm, Monday to Friday
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Employment Type: Contract (Part-time)
  • Salary: £80 - £100 per day, depending on experience

To apply for this role, you will need:

  • Experience supporting children with SEN, specifically with Speech and Language needs (S&L).
  • A passion for working with children and supporting their individual learning needs within the education and training sector.
  • A positive and proactive attitude, with the ability to be flexible in a dynamic school environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both with children and staff.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to children in Year 4 and Year 5 with Speech and Language difficulties.
  • Assisting with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and supporting students in achieving their learning goals.
  • Helping students develop their communication skills through various activities and tailored interventions.
  • Supporting the classroom teacher in managing behaviour and providing additional assistance as needed.
  • Working collaboratively with the SENCo, class teachers, and other staff to ensure a holistic and inclusive approach to learning.
