My client is a London-based broker and market maker with offices globally, specialising in metals derivatives. You will report to Head of Sales and be part of the Sales team working alongside the Trading and Operations teams.

As the role progresses into a Business Development role you will be required to travel.


Role

  • Execute trading requests from base metals clientele with a clear focus on the Japanese portfolio.
  • Day-to-day servicing/execution of client business.
  • Interaction with clients via telephone, email and electronic messenger.
  • Produce a daily Japanese trading report for both clients and colleagues.

Candidate Profile

  • Fluent in Japanese and English.
  • Has experience within commodity and/or financial markets.
  • Proficient knowledge of Eikon, Bloomberg, LME Select, as well as internal trading platforms and order management system.
  • Diligent and hardworking with an attention to detail.
  • Hold an upper Second-Class Honours degree.
  • Demonstrate ability to cope with high pressure situations, both internally on the trading desk and externally when dealing with customers.
  • Regularly visit clients and prospects, further attend industry trade fairs and conferences.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Hours are 07:30 to 17:30, Monday to Friday, although flexibility may be required at peak periods.
  • Currently hybrid working with a minimum three days in the office.
