The Legal New Verticals team is looking for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel. The main task is to assist our ambitious businesses aiming to scale in new countries and develop their products.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Business Development, Operations, Finance, and Marketing, to understand the objectives and requirements of new business verticals
  • Provide expert legal advice and guidance on the legal aspects of launching and expanding new businesses, including corporate structuring, regulatory compliance, intellectual property protection, data protection, consumer rights protection and contractual negotiations
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to assess risks and opportunities associated with new business initiatives, and develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal agreements and contracts related to new business verticals, including partnership agreements, service contracts, and licensing agreements
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends that may impact the company's new business initiatives, and proactively advise stakeholders on potential legal implications
  • Develop and implement legal policies, procedures, and best practices to support the growth and scalability of new business verticals
  • Act as a key liaison between legal and other departments, facilitating effective communication and collaboration on legal matters related to new business verticals


Qualifications :

  • At least five (5) years experience as an in-house lawyer, preferably in a high growth technology start-up
  • Prior law firm experience strongly preferred
  • Self-starter and entrepreneurial mindset, ability and desire to work with a variety of business stakeholders
  • Experience in platform liability, intellectual property, consumer protection, regulatory and compliance schemes to technology and e-commerce products, SaaS industry and customer/third party agreements
  • Strong documentation, presentation, and communication skills in a cross-functional and global role
  • Fluent in English
  • Fluency in Russian or another language is a bonus but not required
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently and under pressure in a start-up environment
  • Connector who can facilitate across multiple stakeholders, influence decisions, and help drive teams toward consensus
