What you'll be doing;

  • Leading the commercial functional team within the Energy Projects Construction Team
  • Mentoring, managing and growing the team into a high performing team that work in partnership with our Project Managers and act as a catalyst for high commercial performance of our growing portfolio of projects
  • Educating the wider project teams on the key commitments, rights, risks and opportunities in our head and subcontracts
  • Be the subject matter expert for all construction commercial matters
  • Developing and continuously improving the work processes, procedures and tools used by the team
  • Collaborating with our Finance Team to provide high quality management reports to senior stakeholders in the business
  • Taking an overarching view of the portfolio of projects from a commercial perspective, identifying the most significant commercial risks and opportunities, ensuring that appropriate measures are taken to mitigate risks and capitalise on opportunities
  • Working with our Development Team and central functions, providing real-time feedback to continuously improve our future tenders


What we're looking for;

  • Proven track record in leading a commercial team in a construction environment
  • Relevant HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent professional qualification in Quantity Surveying and/or Construction Commercial Management
  • Full membership of RICS or another relevant professional institution
  • Thorough knowledge of forms of contract including NEC, JCT, IChemE.
  • Experience working for a main contractor within the building services or energy sectors
