We are recruiting on behalf of a UK leading distributor in their industry for a Sales Account Manager for a B2B Sales role in a dynamic, fun, and strong sales team who specialise in selling cable and cable accessories.


As a Sales Account Manager, you will use your experience in B2B sales, account management, excellent customer service and communication skills to deliver performance in line with the objectives of the department and financial targets set each month.


You will be given full product and technical training, and the company will be supporting you to learn and develop your knowledge of products across the group- the company will give you the confidence to provide customers with key account management services and consultative technical sales.


Key responsibilities for a Sales Account Manager:

  • Identify opportunities with new and existing customers within the manufacturing market and target these prospects with a clear and detailed plan enabling you to build long-term profitable sales
  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers, establishing yourself as their key account manager
  • Responding to inbound emails and phone enquiries, ensuring that customers are quoted, and orders are processed by the sales support team
  • Create a daily outbound call plan to have a clear, proactive approach to key account management
  • Listen to the customer’s requirements and create detail proposal documents and present appropriately to close the sale
  • Challenging any objections to convert your quotes
  • Actively looking for ways to grow business by immersing yourself in the industry and working closely with the sales leadership team on new ideas and prospects
  • Advise customers on forthcoming product developments and discuss special promotions
  • Maintaining clear and up to date customer records on the CRM system
  • Represent the company at trade exhibitions, events, and demonstrations


Essential Skills for a Sales Account Manager:

  • Previous internal sales experience
  • Strong B2B sales experience- ideally consultative and/or technical
  • Account management and business development experience
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and written to all levels
  • Able to develop and maintain effective, positive working relationships with internal and external professionals
  • Enjoy working to sales targets and goals- striving to overachieve these
  • All-round IT skills and experience using a CRM system
  • A resilient person- able to cope with rejection
