We are seeking an experienced Chief/Senior Data Scientist to lead high-profile data science projects for a public sector client with a leading consultancy. This hybrid role (1-2 days per week in Central London) combines technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, and mentorship.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Data Science Projects: Manage and drive data science initiatives using advanced cloud, analytics, and machine learning tools to deliver impactful insights and solutions.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with senior stakeholders to align data initiatives with strategic goals and communicate insights to influence decision-making.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of junior data scientists, ensuring their development and the delivery of high-quality outputs.
  • Innovation & Best Practices: Stay ahead of data science trends, applying innovative approaches and best practices to solve complex challenges.


Key Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive Data Science Experience: 5+ years of experience in machine learning, statistical modeling, and data analytics. Proficiency in Python, R, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to lead teams, mentor junior staff, and communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Public Sector Experience (Desirable): Experience working with public sector clients is a plus.
