Please kindly note this is a Cellar Hand - Evening shift position - 4 days per week.


Upon successfully joining Nyetimber, you will initially join on day shifts while undergoing training, once this has been completed (we estimate within 3 months) we will move to our afternoon shift to start gaining the benefit of extended production hours, once this has been successfully implemented you will start the evening shift permanently.


Temporary day shift hours: 7.30am - 4pm

Temporary afternoon shift hours: 11.30am - 8pm

Permanent evening shift hours: 3.30pm - 1.45am.


The day and afternoon shift will be Monday - Friday and once transitioned to evening shift, this will be Monday - Thursday


There will be a 10% increase in pay when you start the afternoon shift and a 20% increase in pay for your permanent evening shift role.

Nyetimber is a pioneering luxury brand and multiple award-winning English sparkling wine producer. We are expanding our Cellar Team and have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Cellar Hand to join us., you will be responsible for tasks related to high quality sparkling wine production and will have regular communication with our Winery and Warehouse Production Assistant, Cellar Manager and Winemakers.


Responsibilities:

  • Carry out all winery production operations accurately and in a timely fashion. These production activities will include working with both wine in tank and bottled stock.
  • To deputise for the Cellar Supervisor as operator of the disgorging and bottling lines when required.
  • Train junior staff and new starters on winemaking tasks to the point where they could work with supervision.
  • Able to operate Padovan earth filter and heat exchanger.
  • Act as shift supervisor at harvest if required by line manager.
  • Extras hours and complete flexibility over working days is required at crucial times of the year, especially Harvest (October).
  • To work in collaboration with all members of the winery team to ensure smooth operation of the winery and a positive work environment.
  • To maintain a safe, clean and tidy work environment at all times and act as a role model in that regard for temporary staff.
  • To work at any of the Nyetimber production facilities as required.
  • To show initiative in keeping up to date with personal training records and updates to winery Standard Operating Protocols and/or Risk Assessments.
  • To undertake any prescribed training as required.
  • To act as a positive ambassador of Nyetimber when interacting with external parties.
  • Able to speak passionately and expertly about wine production at Nyetimber.
  • Undertake other duties commensurate with the responsibilities of the role and any other reasonable management request.
