About the Role


They are experiencing a period of growth and are looking for a Business Development Manager to join th team. Your primary mission will be to win new customers and new business within the Police sector, becoming a trusted advisor to prospects and clients. This role involves more than just sales; it's about building long-term partnerships based on honesty, integrity, and mutual success.


You'll maintain and expand your network of contacts, working with leads from the wider team, and managing accounts to grow revenue and profit. Your role will also include developing and presenting solutions to meet customer needs, managing tender responses, and collaborating with marketing on sales collateral.


Key Responsibilities


  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with prospects and customers.
  • Qualify business leads and develop a robust sales pipeline.
  • Convert qualified leads into won business, meeting target criteria.
  • Achieve quarterly and annual sales targets, ensuring profitable sales.
  • Partner with Marketing to produce and deliver effective sales collateral.
  • Manage the tender response process, ensuring strong, winning proposals.
  • Create commercial models and cost calculators for clear customer understanding.
  • Maintain a network of contacts within the Police sector.


About You


You are an empathetic communicator who can adapt your style to suit different customers. You thrive in complex environments with multiple senior stakeholders and can prioritize multiple responsibilities efficiently. As a self-starter, you are target-driven, highly organized, and a determined completer/finisher.

Skills & Experience


  • Proficient in Excel with the ability to build cost models.
  • High standards of written English with strong attention to detail.
  • Confident using CRM systems (HubSpot and ConnectWise preferred).
  • Proven experience with technical managed services contracts.
  • Experience in a target-driven environment.
  • Skilled in communicating with and influencing key stakeholders.
  • Experience in distributed working environments and best practices.
  • Recent experience in proposals and commercial negotiations.
  • Desirable: Experience in the police and law enforcement sector.


Additional Requirements


  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Must meet access requirements for government and law enforcement sites (NPPV3 and SC clearances).
