Here at EMIS we are excited to share that we are looking for a Engineering Manager to come and join us on a permanent basis.

This is a truly exciting role sat within our Pharmacy Services team, you will be an integral part of our team where you will collaborate to build the next evolution of our Pharmacy platform which contributes to creating more GP appointments free for those who need them. We want you to drive innovation, ensure operational excellence, as well as provide inspiring leadership to your Managers and Engineers.

What you’ll do

You will collaborate with you peers, stakeholders and wider teams to set and drive the vision for your teams, ensuring it aligns with our business objectives. You will have a strategic focus to understand the wider technology ask, taking into consideration the complexity of different landscapes.

As our Engineering Manager, you will support, coach, mentor and lead multi-skilled Software professionals. We want you to create a culture within your teams where individuals feel empowered to take ownership and have a focus on delivering quality and excellence.


Other key responsibilities and accountabilities will include;


  • Accountability for the delivery, quality and technical approach taken by your teams to deliver on objectives.
  • Identify and address operational challenges, ensuring the reliability and performance of our software.
  • Be customer centric and adopt an understanding our customer settings and how this applies to building high quality healthcare products.
  • Drive agile delivery across all teams
  • Implementing and refining processes to ensure delivery of high quality software



Who you’ll be


We need you to be an inspiring People Leader of Software Development teams.

Whilst the role will see you technically hands-off, an understanding of modern development methodologies and tech stacks will be beneficial (.Net/Python, React, TypeScript, Agile, AWS/Azure).

Your ability to develop credible and trusted relationships with peers, stakeholders and your teams will be evident, as well as your ability to influence and challenge where appropriate.
