Who You Are

As a Residential Worker, you are an experienced and committed individual who holds at least one year of experience working in a children's home. You possess a strong understanding of child protection, safeguarding procedures, and the ethos of therapeutic care. You are adept at building positive relationships with children and other professionals, demonstrating flexibility in your work hours, including shift and weekend work. Your role demands you be proactive, compassionate, and vigilant, with a dedication to ensuring the well-being and development of young people in line with legislation and best practice.

What the Job Involves

Your responsibilities include supporting and implementing the development of the children's home, ensuring the needs of young people are met, and protecting them from harm. You will assist with compliance related to Ofsted and legislation, ensure high standards of personal hygiene and behavior among children, and develop their social skills. Participation in developing care plans and supervising recreational activities is essential. You will maintain good relationships with families and professionals, adhere to child protection procedures, perform household tasks, and contribute to a safe, stimulating environment. Compliance with health and safety, Data Protection laws, and organizational policies is crucial, along with a commitment to ongoing training and development. The role may occasionally require travel to other offices for meetings or training.
