We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a QA Engineer to be based out of our Stanford-Le-Hope Port. This role plays a crucial role in ensuring software quality and reliability by validating software solutions across the entire development lifecycle. This includes User Acceptance Testing (UAT), automated testing, and managing defects. This role collaborates with various stakeholders, supports QA governance, and provides insights to improve testing processes. You will work autonomously within an Agile environment to contribute towards delivering secure, efficient, and user-friendly solutions.
We are looking for someone with QA Engineer experience, who can engage with the entire software lifecycle also focusing on automation, as well as good knowledge of .Net. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a constantly expanding company and to be able to further your knowledge and career.
Location: Stanford le Hope, Essex
Hours: Monday – Friday 37.5 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

How you will contribute
- Requirements Analysis: Interpret and validate business requirements to formulate test cases, scenarios, and plans.
- Testing Expertise: Conduct end-to-end testing, including Functional Testing, UAT, System Integration Testing (SIT), Business Acceptance Testing, and Regression Testing.
- Automation Testing: Leverage automation tools to execute automated tests where applicable, ensuring efficient test coverage and faster release cycles.
- Defect Management: Document, track, and manage defects using JIRA; oversee the defect lifecycle from detection to closure.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to QA process improvements, maintain quality standards, and support efforts toward continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD).
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work within cross-functional Agile teams and communicate effectively with developers, PMs, BAs, and external stakeholders.
- Compliance & Governance: Adhere to QA governance and organizational policies.
What you will bring
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as ISTQB, Agile/Scrum, or Automation Tools Certification.
- Experience
- Minimum 5 years of software testing experience, including manual and automated testing.
- Proven experience with Agile methodologies.
- Experience in API testing using tools like Postman (essential).
- SQL database experience with strong data validation skills.
- Preferred: Knowledge of the Maritime, Port Management, or Supply Chain domains.
