Role Overview: SEN Lecturer

As an SEN Lecturer, you’ll work with students who have physical, mental, emotional, or learning disabilities. Your primary responsibility is to create a supportive learning environment tailored to each student’s unique needs.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assess Abilities: Evaluate students’ skills and learning requirements.
  2. Individualized Plans: Design Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) to address specific needs.
  3. Collaborate: Work closely with parents and school staff to track students’ progress.
  4. Adapt Materials: Customize learning materials to accommodate diverse abilities.
  5. Behavioral Monitoring: Observe behavioral patterns and intervene as necessary.
  6. Engaging Activities: Create engaging activities for skill development (e.g., drawing, theater drama).
  7. Classroom Management: Handle crises and resolve conflicts.
  8. Transition Support: Prepare students for transitions to the next grade.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Hold a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) through the OQT (Overseas Qualified Teacher) route or a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in the UK.
