Job Overview:

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician to join their team, covering Kent and the South East region. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs across commercial settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, excellent problem-solving skills, and a keen eye for detail.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and Maintenance: Carry out electrical installations, upgrades, and repairs in accordance with BS 7671 (18th Edition) wiring regulations. This includes wiring, lighting, power outlets, and circuit breakers in domestic, commercial, and industrial settings.
  • Testing and Inspection: Perform testing and inspection of electrical systems to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations. Complete necessary documentation such as Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs).
  • Fault Finding: Diagnose and repair electrical faults in a timely manner, minimizing downtime and ensuring the safety of all site users.
  • Compliance: Ensure all work complies with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations. Stay up to date with the latest industry regulations and best practices.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, communicating effectively with clients to understand their needs and explain technical information in a clear, understandable manner.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all work carried out, including time sheets, job reports, and any required certifications or permits.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other electricians, apprentices, and contractors on-site to ensure projects are completed on time and to a high standard.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Certification: Fully qualified electrician with NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
  • Regulations: Strong knowledge of the IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671), ideally 18th Edition qualified.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Licensing: Hold a valid ECS card or similar. A full, clean UK driving license is required.
  • Testing & Inspection: City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent) in Testing & Inspection is highly desirable.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and repair complex electrical issues.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical clients.
