Electronics Engineer

£60,000 to £65,000+ benefits

+ Tier2 Visa (if you are in UK) + 9-days fortnight or 4 Days a week with compressed hours near Portsmouth – Great train station access

Summary:


We're looking for a talented Electronics Engineer to join our Client, who is A global company dedicated to creating a safer world through innovative fire safety solutions. Our products protect people and property in a wide range of applications. You play a key role in the development of innovative hardware solutions. You'll collaborate across departments to ensure products meet requirements, design and validate electronic systems, and contribute to continuous improvement.


Responsibilities:


Requirements Management:


  1. Partner with Product Architects and System Engineers to gather and define hardware requirements.
  2. Develop technical block specifications and interfaces.


Hardware Design and Development:


  • Design electronic hardware solutions that meet product requirements.
  • Perform quantitative analysis to verify requirements, constraints, and assumptions.
  • Collaborate on simulations, validation, and selection of optimal solutions.
  • Create, review, and approve test cases.
  • Develop and maintain technical block documentation.
  • Participate in peer reviews to minimize design errors. Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis to verify and validate requirements, constraints and assumptions(i.e. WCA, part-stress, DFMEAs, MTBFs, Monte-Carlo Analysis)
  • Collaboratively with the functional architects, simulate, validate, justify and select among available feasible electronic implementations the optimal one to fulfil all product requirements, project costs, quality and schedules.
  • Collaboratively create, accept and allocate test cases based on requirements.
  • Follow the Hardware development process to fulfil the required artefacts for the data model and required design documentation.
  • Demonstrate the traceability throughout the model, project and data model.
  • Provide reporting/metrics across all design cycles.
  • Document designs for both internal use and submission to approvals bodies.



Skills Development:


  • Actively participate in continuous improvement projects and training opportunities.
  • Identify and propose future development opportunities.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in electronics design (specify desired experience level).
  • Significant experience in electronic product design and development.
  • Strong analogue circuit, high-volume, and low-power electronics circuit design experience.
  • Expertise in modelling and simulating electronic circuits.
  • Experience in high-regulated product development (e.g., automotive, medical devices, avionics, military etc).
  • Proficient in hardware design tools and methodologies (e.g., simulation software).
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.


Desirable:


  • · Software knowledge (embedded / firmware).
  • · Knowledge of safety standards (e.g., SIL, ATEX etc)
  • · Exposure to fire/gas detection, instrumentation or at least some involvement in instrumentation, optics/laser designs.
