Our vast direct-to-store (DTS) distribution network, comprising of 17 depots nationwide, enables us to make over 10,400 daily deliveries of our own chilled and frozen produce and that of third parties.

Here at Bow, we have a team of around 800 colleagues. We produce sandwiches, wraps, platters, sub rolls and salads for some of the biggest retailers in the UK including Sainsbury's, Co-op, Asda, Morrisons and BP Wild Bean Café.

What you'll be doing

As a Health & Safety Advisor you will be expected to provide professional guidance to all functions on operational Health, Safety and Environment activities ensuring alignment with Group and Divisional policy.

Responsibilities:

* Maintain the Health, Safety and Environment systems to ensure the adherence to all relevant Health, Safety and Environment legislation and agreed internal standards.

* Conduct routine risk assessments across the site to ensure that all operational risks are identified and adequately controlled.

* Lead and undertake internal audits and inspections against the site's management systems and agreed internal standards.

* Deliver Health, Safety and Environmental training to meet the location's learning and development plans and to support the Greencore Way principle of keeping people healthy and safe.

* Increase health and safety competence of managers and staff in the business through coaching and guidance, providing training opportunities to ensure staff remain current and competent health and safety practices and promote the continual development of the site's HSE culture.

* Support in maintaining the site's Health, Safety and Environmental management system to ensure adherence to relevant legislation and Greencore Group standards.

* Support management through investigations of incidents and accidents to ensure root cause analysis and effective preventative and corrective actions.

* Proactively advise operational functions to ensure the delivery of the site's annual targets and objectives and completion of departmental improvement plans.

* Ideally holds a national or professional qualification in Health, Safety and Environment (or a related field)
