Business Analyst - Global Catastrophe Programme
Position Title: Business Analyst
Department: Global Catastrophe Programme
Location: City of London, 3 days per week on site
Job Type: Contract
Rate: £550-650 per day
About the Role: The Global Catastrophe Programme is seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst to lead the redesign and implementation of our communication strategy and data cataloguing processes. This role is crucial to ensuring that the programme provides quicker and more accurate estimates of loss during catastrophe events. The successful candidate will have a strong background in business analysis, data management, and project management, with a focus on the insurance industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Communication Strategy Development:
- Analyse and redesign the current communication playbook to enhance clarity, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy tailored to various stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, regulatory bodies, and the public.
- Ensure timely and accurate dissemination of information during and after catastrophe events.
Data Management and Cataloguing:
- Oversee the cataloguing of data sets related to catastrophe events, ensuring they are well-organized, easily accessible, and up-to-date.
- Collaborate with data analysts and IT teams to improve data collection, storage, and retrieval processes.
- Implement best practices for data governance and security.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the primary point of contact for all communications related to the catastrophe programme.
- Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
- Conduct regular briefings and updates to keep stakeholders informed of progress and developments.
Project Management:
- Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of communication and data strategies.
- Develop project plans, set timelines, and monitor progress to ensure objectives are met on time and within budget.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with communication and data management processes.
Continuous Improvement:
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and data management practices.
- Gather feedback from stakeholders and use it to make continuous improvements.
- Stay updated on industry trends and innovations to ensure the programme adopts the latest best practices.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Data Management, Communications, or a related field preferred but not essential. Advanced degree preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business analysis, data management, or a related role, preferably within the insurance industry.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing successful communication strategies and data management processes.
