About the Role:

We are looking to hire an experienced and dedicated Catering Training Manager to join the team at HMP prison services. This is a permanent and full time opportunity reporting into our General Manager on site and you will oversee and manage all food and food safety training within the prison.

The site is a category B men's prison feeding c1,000 inmates breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Our client provides world-class contract catering services to our extensive list of clients across the UK, including Defence and Judicial, private industry and Education. We are very lucky to have some of the best Culinary and Catering talent that the UK has to offer working within our teams.

Catering Training Manager Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Food Safety training to prisoners working within catering areas
  • Deliver allergen training to prisoners working within catering areas and ensure all prisoners working have been inducted into their work area
  • Train staff on the induction process
  • Keep all induction and the training matrix up to date
  • Complete practical demonstrations
  • Coach and mentor candidates
  • Instruct prisoners in Health and Hygiene
  • Train prisoners and staff in the use of all kitchen equipment
  • Assist where necessary in food preparation.
  • Complete monthly safety checks for all areas
  • Identify any further training needs for all staff and action as appropriate.
  • Coordinate training and all relevant training administration
  • Identify learners for NVQ and enrol
  • Complete registration tracker
  • Meet monthly KPIs and provide monthly training stats

Catering Training Manager Qualifications & Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of food having worked in a kitchen and food safety
  • Level 3 food safety qualified
  • Experience training and developing individuals
  • A strong communicator with patience and resilience
  • Deliver Food Safety, Manual Handling and NVQs
  • Must have PTTLS & TAQA, experience required
