As part of our growth, we are seeking a Financial Controller to join our Manchester-based team. You’ll play a critical role in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and supporting strategic goals.


What to Expect

As Financial Controller, you’ll oversee financial management, drive process improvements, and provide insights to guide business decisions. Reporting to the Group Finance Director and managing a team of two, your expertise will shape the financial health and strategic direction of Applica.

What We Need

  • Minimum of 5 years in financial management, preferably in recruitment or similar industries
  • Professional accounting qualifications (FMAAT, CIMA, or ACCA)
  • Proficiency in financial software and advanced MS Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and leadership abilities
  • Excellent communication for liaising with financial and non-financial stakeholders


Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management & Strategy: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management to support strategic objectives.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Deliver accurate financial reports, conduct variance analyses, and present insights to stakeholders.
  • Compliance & Controls: Ensure adherence to financial regulations and internal policies, manage audits, and strengthen financial controls.
  • Cost Management: Optimize expense structures to drive profitability and efficiency.
  • Team Development: Mentor and develop finance team members, fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Process Improvement: Enhance financial systems and reporting processes for increased efficiency.
