Your Opportunity:

As a venture-backed, seed-stage start-up, CroBio is at the forefront of developing cutting-edge microorganisms to tackle the most pressing challenges in agriculture. We’re searching for an exceptional **Scientist** to join our strain engineering team. The Role:

We need a curious, motivated, and skilled scientist with a knack for microbial engineering. Your role will involve pushing the boundaries of our innovative biostimulants. You will be instrumental in genetically modifying bacteria to create solutions that meet the needs of modern agriculture.


Key Responsibilities:

· Engage in the crucial battle against climate change by engineering revolutionary microbes.

· Work closely with our team to develop genetic systems in both model and non-model host bacteria.

· Be part of projects from conception to completion.

· Design and conduct experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of our engineered strains in controlled environments.

· Collaborate with experts in plant science and soil science to assess the impact of our engineered strains on plant roots.


Who We Are Looking For:

· A dedicated professional with extensive knowledge in synthetic biology, microbiology, or molecular biology.

· Someone who enjoys laboratory work, projects and meeting fast-paced deadlines.

· A strong scientist eager to contribute to the growth of our start-up and foster an outstanding work environment.


Required Skills:

· PhD in Synthetic Biology, Microbiology, or Molecular Biology with a focus on bacteria.

· At least 1 year of industry/post-doc experience.

· Expertise in bacteria engineering, design and construction of genetic systems, and familiarity with the latest techniques (e.g., CRISPR, directed evolution, homologous recombination etc).


Nice-to-Have Skills:

· Proficiency in Python and/or bioinformatics.

· Experience with qPCR, protein engineering, and bacterial secretion systems.

· Background in engineering Pseudomonads and soil microbiome expertise.
