Job Description: Midas VFX is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented VFX Editor to join our dynamic team. The VFX Editor will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless integration of visual effects into our projects. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of the post-production process. Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with VFX supervisors, producers, and artists to manage the integration of visual effects into the final edited sequence.
  • Track and manage all VFX shots in the editorial pipeline, ensuring they are accurately placed within the sequence and match the creative vision.
  • Assemble and maintain the edit of VFX sequences, incorporating feedback from directors and VFX supervisors.
  • Provide regular updates on the status of VFX shots and sequences to the production team.
  • Ensure continuity and consistency across all VFX shots, including colour correction, timing, and placement.
  • Manage and organize all media assets related to the VFX process, including plates, reference materials, and final renders.
  • Work with the editorial team to troubleshoot any issues related to VFX shots in the sequence.
  • Assist in preparing final deliverables, ensuring all VFX shots meet the required technical and creative standards.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a VFX Editor or in a similar editorial role within the VFX/post-production industry.
  • Proficiency with Nukestudio / Heiro and familiarity with VFX pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of visual effects processes, including compositing, colour grading, and CGI integration.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Keen attention to detail and a strong visual sense.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members across different departments.
  • Familiarity with file formats, codecs, and post-production workflows.
