Ambitious about Autism is the national charity for children and young people with autism. We provide education and employment services, raise awareness and understanding and campaign for change. Through our Ofsted Outstanding and Good provisions; Ambitious College, TreeHouse School and The Rise School, we offer specialist education and support.

We are embarking on the next chapter of our Ambitious journey, to open a new special free school for autistic children and young people in Kingston. The new school will build on our Education model, the Ambitious Approach, which places a focus on the wellbeing and quality of life of each pupil.

Our vision is a world where the ordinary is the everyday experience of children and young people with autism. We are looking for a Senior Education Consultant on a fixed term or consultancy based contract to support the development of new and existing education settings across Ambitious about Autism and the Ambitious about Autism Schools Trust (AaAST). The role will involve the development of our current offering, education model and curriculum in new schools. There will be a strong focus on stakeholder development and relationship building. You will report to the Executive Principal, with a dotted line management relationship with the Director of Service Development and will form part of the Education Executive Management Team (EEMT).

Your role
  • Working collaboratively with the Executive Principal and Director of Service Development to design high-quality service offers for a range of settings
  • Design a robust, broad and balanced autism-specific curriculum for all Key Stages with a clear focus on positive outcomes for our children and young people
  • To ensure the new settings meet all regulatory frameworks, including but not limited to Ofsted
  • Develop curriculum strategies for new settings, including but not limited to: principles upon which the curriculum is based, its intent, implementation and impact
