ON Next is recruiting three Business Controls Analysts to join our Credit Risk Team. While our Insight Analysts focus on the "why," this team ensures the "how" is robust, secure, and effective. You will be the guardians of our debt systems, ensuring that every control is functioning as intended and that risks are identified before they become issues. This is a critical role for those who enjoy "under the hood" problem-solving and want to play a pivotal part in maintaining the integrity of our financial operations and customer outcomes. Here's a taste of what you'll be doing:
- Guardian of our Systems & Processes: Monitor and maintain robust controls across our debt systems and processes. You’ll ensure they operate effectively to protect the business and, most importantly, provide the correct journey for our customers.
- Expert Problem Solver: Lead Root Cause Analysis on control exceptions or system failures. You won’t just fix the surface issue; you’ll dig deep to understand the "why" and build a roadmap to prevent it from happening again.
- Gatekeeper of Integrity: Oversee User Access Controls, managing permissions and security protocols. You’ll ensure our data remains secure and that our specialists have exactly the tools they need—no more, no less.
- Trusted Advisor & Process Streamliner: Serve as a subject matter expert for Control Owners in Credit Management, offering expert guidance to effectively mitigate risks and optimize processes.
- Change Catalyst: As an active member of the Credit Management Change group, you’ll support ad-hoc projects. You’ll ensure that as the business grows and improves, our controls and risk coverage stay one step ahead.
- Continuous Control Oversight: Establish and maintain continuous monitoring for high-risk credit processes. You will perform ad-hoc assurance and "health checks" on closed risks to guarantee that our control environment remains resilient and adaptive to new challenges.
- The Operational Link: Successfully bridge the gap between technical system performance and operational excellence, ensuring our tech serves our people and our customers perfectly. Are we the perfect match?
- Possesses an analytical mindset, with a natural talent for spotting patterns in data and investigating anomalies.
- Is a disciplined problem-solver who doesn’t just fix a symptom but digs deep to find the root cause of an issue.
- Has high attention to detail, understanding that in a credit environment, a small system error can have a significant impact on a customer.
- Is an effective communicator, capable of explaining complex risks or technical issues to stakeholders at all levels.
- Takes ownership, ensuring that risks aren't just "logged" but are actively managed through to resolution.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment, where you can balance routine monitoring with urgent, ad-hoc system improvements.
- Is ethical and customer-centric, ensuring that all system controls align with treating customers fairly and supporting those in debt. It would be great if you had:
- Familiarity with Debt Management Systems and the lifecycle of a utility account.
- Experience in Access Management or system administration protocols.
- Proficiency in SQL or Excel for investigating data discrepancies and system exceptions.
- Prior experience in Risk Management, Audit, or Internal Controls within a financial or utility setting.
- An understanding of Utility Regulations (such as Ofgem's ability to pay/vulnerability guidelines) and how they relate to system controls.
- Experience using incident management software or risk registers. Here’s what else you need to know:
