Painter and Decorator

London, ENG, United Kingdom March Property & Construction Limited Full-time
Are you an experienced painter decorator who's confident hanging premium wallpaper? Can you work at pace without the standard of your finish dropping? At March Construction, we specialise in high end residential projects, we're currently in the finishing stage of a four-bed semi-detached house refurbishment in Shepherd's Bush (W12). We need a painter and decorator to assist with its completion, to the standard our clients expect. Finishing is the part of a project everyone sees, and the whole house is judged on it. The programme is tight, so you'll need to be up to speed from day one. Premium wallpaper should look like it was printed on the wall, and that starts with prep and making good nobody will ever see. This project will continue for around four weeks, with further work for the right person. If this sounds like you, then read on. Who you are You hold yourself to a high standard and you work well to a deadline.
- You can work at pace without the finish suffering
- You're thorough with prep, because a high-end finish depends on it
- You're reliable. When you say you'll be on site, you're on site
- You work well as part of a team, taking direction from the project manager and keeping communication clear with the trades around you
- You're flexible and willing to turn your hand to whatever the job needs Qualifications and experience
- Proven experience as a painter and decorator, ideally on high-end residential finishing work
- A confident paperhanger with experience hanging premium wallpaper (essential)
- Your own tools (essential)
- Your own transport to site in W12 (essential)
- A CSCS card is desirable, though not necessary
- Photos of previous work or references, available on request
- A multi-trade background is a big bonus What you'll be working on
- Finishing works on a high-end refurbishment of a four-bed semi-detached house
- Preparing and making good older surfaces so the final finish is flawless
- Hanging premium wallpaper
- Painting to a high-end finish
- Working to the project manager to meet the programme Why this role Relationships matter at March, both with our clients and with the subcontractors who help us deliver for them. Clients come back because the finish is right, and the same subcontractors get called back because they're reliable and easy to work with. Deliver well on this project and we'll keep calling you back for future decorating work. We're continuing to build out site team so once this job wraps up, the next site needs setting up, so if you've got multi-trade experience there's a lot more on offer here than decorating. Someone who's happy to put up hoarding, collect materials, clear down a site and help get the next one mobilised would be a big part of that team. The package
