A rewarding part-time opportunity for a professional SEN Nanny/Manny to support an engaging, bright autistic boy of 4.

- Essential: SEN-trained, with experience (professional or personal) supporting autistic early years children in emotional regulation. Skilled in positive behaviour plans, sensory strategies, and de-escalation. Must be confident around large dogs and cats, fluent in English or Ukrainian or Russian, and happy spending lots of time outdoors, including forest school and messy play.
- Fixed term (cover): 23rd November 2026

- Days & Hours: During the term time, The role is 27.5 hours per week, from 2.30 till 8 pm Monday to Friday. During the school holidays, the hours reduce and the schedule is flexible, with days agreed between the SEN Nanny/Manny and the family.
- Pets in Home: Yes, several very large dogs and cats About the Client/Child Ethan (4) is a bright, inquisitive child with a love of nature and exploration. He adores messy and water play, and spending time in the forest. He can focus for long periods with 1:1 activities with an adult. He has strong fixated interests at different times, including snow, the Grinch, the North Pole, microbes, snakes, octopuses, pirates and boats. He loves animals, the natural world and is trilingual, speaking and understanding English, Russian, and Ukrainian equally. Ethan is autistic and he can display behaviours that challenge due to sensory/emotional/social overwhelm and can have difficulties with transitions or changes in routine. The role is a cover fixed term and focuses on structured, creative activities to support his social development while ensuring his safety and wellbeing. The Role at a Glance As Ethan’s SEN Nanny/Manny, you will provide warm, consistent 1:1 support focused on his emotional regulation, communication, confidence and social development. The afternoon will begin at around 2.30pm, when you will travel to Ethan’s school, located near St Leonards, ready to collect him at 3.30pm. You can travel using your own car or by public transport, with the family covering reasonable travel expenses, including fuel or train and bus fares. After school, you will spend time with Ethan doing something enjoyable and engaging together. This might include a trip to the playground, forest, outdoor exploration, food experiments, or a structured activity tailored to his interests and developmental needs. Using a child-led, educator-informed approach, you will create opportunities to support Ethan in expressing his emotions, communicating his needs and requests, developing independence and building everyday life skills. You will then return with Ethan to the family home and support him through his evening routine, including helping him settle and completing his bedtime routine. The role would suit someone creative, active and outdoorsy who can provide Ethan with a calm, nurturing and encouraging presence while making his afternoons enjoyable and meaningful. This Role Would Suit This role would suit someone who is confident, proactive, and hands-on, with a good understanding of child development, particularly autism in reception-aged children. The ideal candidate is patient, warm yet consistent with boundaries, motivated, and aware of SEN needs. They should be able to support positive choices, follow a child-led approach, and bring the right skills to engage and motivate Ethan. Experience can come from either professional or personal settings, and a genuine interest in developing skills further is welcomed. Must be happy around pets.
