Project ManagerApplication Deadline: 5 December 2025Department: ProjectsEmployment Type: Permanent - Full TimeLocation: EP Northern IrelandReporting To: Business Development Management TeamDescriptionAn opportunity has arisen to recruit a Project Manager within the Business Development Team at EP UK Investments Ltd.The successful candidate will be a competent and practised Project Manager with experience of both the development cycle of projects (e.g. planning, permitting, procurement) as well as the delivery of construction projects. They will have the drive and determination to take projects from the early stages of development to completion and final handover to O&M.The role will be based either at a local site or from home depending on the base location of the successful candidate. However, significant travel to the project location should be expected especially during the construction phase where full time attendance at site will be required.Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will have responsibility for, but not limited to:Managing all aspects of projects from initial development phase (planning, consents), through procurement and construction to handover to the operational team. Ensuring all teams work effectively and that communication both within and across teams is effective. Creating progress reports as required and reporting on project progress at all levels, including to the Board of Directors. Ensuring project goals, timelines, and budgets are met. Working in accordance with Industry Best Practice to ensure successful, cost focussed and on-schedule delivery. Identifying project requirements; supporting the production of programmes, budgets, quality plans and strategy / execution documents as required.Seeking to improve all project goals (e.g. cost, performance, programme) through the optimisation of the project. Working with the O&M team to ensure that the asset seamlessly transfers to Operations on completion of the project.Identifying requirements, implementing and managing project resources including personnel, equipment, and materials. Ensuring that programmes are co-ordinated and any conflicts identified / managed. Identifying and highlighting resource conflicts.Ensuring that all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are met and that the team targets the highest standards of HSE performance. Driving the development of the quality programmes and procedures and implement effectively.Working alongside the commercial team becoming fully conversant with all contracts that are in place for the delivery of the project and ensuring that all contractual requirements (by all parties) are met. Implementing and controling appropriate risk management systems for the projects and ensuring that all risks are identified, quantified, communicated and mitigated. Ensuring that assumptions are recorded and communicated effectively.Providing input into business plans as required. Maintaining a good understanding of the commercial drivers for projects and taking these into account when reviewing progress and decision making.Working with the wider group of EPUKI to deliver innovative solutions to technical and commercial problems.Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseBackgroundAble to demonstrate comprehensive expertise in engineering, operations, and maintenance management, with a proven ability to apply this knowledge effectively in project environments.Extensive understanding of contract management and commercial operations, with the ability to navigate and manage complex commercial frameworks.Previous experience in a project focused role, ideally within a power station or similar large scale infrastructure setting.Experience in managing development projects (desirable).Background in construction management (desirable).Proven track record in establishing and promoting a proactive approach to Health, Safety, and Environmental management (essential).Committed to fostering a positive and empowering workplace culture, offering employees meaningful challenges and growth opportunities.Experienced in leading and managing large teams within a project-driven environment.BehavioursProven ability to plan, manage, and deliver projects to established standards and deadlines.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a motivational approach and a flexible, enthusiastic commitment to work.Highly self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.Proficient in a range of software applications, including spreadsheets, word processing, and computer-aided design tools.Skilled in influencing colleagues and building effective relationships across multiple, geographically dispersed locations.Strong analytical capabilities, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable recommendations.Effective problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.Adaptable and responsive to organisational change, with a willingness to take on varied responsibilities.Clear and confident communicator, able to share information effectively with staff and consultants at all levels.Collaborative team player, while also able to work independently when required.Demonstrated leadership ability, with a track record of building, guiding, and developing high-performing teams.QualificationsDegree qualified in an Engineering or related discipline (qualifications below this may be acceptable if evidenced by suitable experience) (essential).Membership of an appropriate professional institution (desirable).Project Management qualification (desirable).
