Control System EngineerLocation: QatarContract: Full-timeRole PurposeLead and execute engineering activities for Instrumentation & Control systems across modifications and projects. Provide technical expertise, detailed engineering, and project support to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable delivery of control systems services.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management: Act as technical expert for Control systems on assigned projects.Support cost-effective delivery of services, participate in budgeting and project costing.Conduct feasibility studies, testing, and prepare recommendations for Control systems projects.Coordinate engineering review and approval of designs, equipment, and interfaces with contractors and vendors.Ensure project engineering activities are executed per specifications, budget, and schedule, highlighting non-conformances.Lead technical meetings and ensure interdisciplinary communication across project teams. Design & Engineering: Execute detailed engineering activities, including system layouts, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and interface drawings.Prepare specifications for PLC/DCS, SCADA, conventional relay control panels, and package equipment (compressors, blowers, pumps, tanks).Develop functional logic diagrams, control narratives, and interlocks.Participate in LOPA and HAZOP reviews.Issue purchase requisitions, perform technical bid evaluations, and prepare MTOs/BOQs.Ensure programming and testing of DCS/PLC/SCADA/Data Acquisition systems, including FAT and SAT.Support Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), SIL calculations, and related IEC standards. Health, Safety, Environment & Quality: Ensure compliance with quality, HSE, and environmental management procedures.Support process safety management and maintain system documentation.Participate in project risk assessments, HAZOP, and modification reviews. Reports & Documentation: Provide inputs for timely and accurate reporting on modifications and projects.Prepare technical reports, procedures, and engineering documentation. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering (full-time).Minimum 10 years' experience in engineering, including at least 7 years in design for Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, or Fertiliser projects.Team leadership experience and exposure to project management.Proficient in English (written and spoken). Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of industrial Instrumentation & Control systems, DCS/PLC/SCADA, Data Acquisition systems, and system architecture.Hands-on experience with industrial communication protocols and system programming.Experience with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), SIL assessment, and IEC standards.Familiarity with LOPA, HAZOP, NFPA, ISA, and IEC codes.Technical bid evaluation and engineering solution skills.Knowledge of security management and CCTV systems is a plus.Excellent communication, time management, and IT proficiency.
