Position TitleHead of Mechanical Engineering (Static Equipment)Working Schedule Work hours per day: 10 hoursWork days per week: 5Work days per month: 22 Work LocationQatar OnshoreEstimated Start Date01 February 2026Contract Term36 months with potential extensionJob Purpose Lead and oversee design, installation, and commissioning of mechanical works for LPG and condensate storage tanks and solid sulphur handlingProvide technical oversight to FEED and EPC contractors ensuring compliance with project requirementsEnsure all discipline documents developed during FEED and EPC phases meet project standards Key Accountabilities Demonstrate safety leadership and promote excellent SHES behavioursParticipate in Toolbox Talks, Task Instructions, and site safety walkthroughsEnsure contractor activities comply with local regulations, codes, standards, and project specificationsReview and approve mechanical datasheets and identify potential project risksManage mechanical discipline resources to ensure timely work completionTrack, record, and close design review comments to support schedule and qualityParticipate in workshops including Plot Plan/Layouts, Constructability, and 3D model reviewsIdentify, track, and implement lessons learned, particularly for existing plant sectionsMonitor contractor progress and ensure timely issuance of mechanical documentationSupport static equipment spare parts identification and quantificationAssist in change management processes, analyze change orders, and provide recommendationsSupport risk management by identifying issues and tracking mitigation actions Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical EngineeringMinimum 10 years of engineering experience including: At least 6 years in the oil and gas sectorAt least 2 years in a supervisory, acting, or contractor oversight role Experience across all project phases including start-up, commissioning, and handoverStrong knowledge of engineering standards, specifications, design, and execution methodologiesBroad experience in project planning, scheduling, cost control, gating systems, risk and change management, interface management, and commissioningProficiency in pressure vessel, heat exchanger, column, and storage tank designFamiliarity with relevant standards and codes such as ASME, API, and TEMAStrong analytical, organisational, coordination, and planning skillsExcellent written and oral English communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office
