Reporting into Head of Engineering Projects and Innovation, this role forms part of our Engineering team in the UNBOX tribe. Unbox's responsibility is delivering boxes to customers; the goal here being a high quality unboxing experience that is sustainable. We strive to ensure quality, accuracy and scale through automation and innovation. The Engineering Project Manager will bring a wealth of Automation and Fulfilment experience to the Projects team. With a proven background in launching Innovative projects and seeing them through to delivery. A subject matter expert in electrical, mechanical automation, systems, AutoCAD drawing understanding, proposals and designs. A strong cross-functional communicator. You will deliver and implement projects; responsible for plans, budgets and execution. Core ResponsibilitiesConduct Capital Engineering feasibility studies to evaluate potential improvement projectsDevelop initial and detailed design solutions for engineering problem statementsLead cross-functional teams to successfully execute projects while ensuring safety, engineering, and food standards complianceEnsures adherence to HSE, ISO, and food safety standards throughout project lifecyclesAct as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for engineering disciplines, defining and enforcing industry standardsManage contractors and internal supply chain customers, ensuring project expectations are metWork with suppliers to propose capital proposals and automation solutions and lead feasibility discussionsProvide technical direction, identify risks and opportunities, and develop solutions during project implementationTrack and communicate project progress, risks, and deliverables to stakeholdersExecute performance trials, review outcomes, and drive solutions for continuous improvement.Who You Are You'll be a Strategic thinker who can balance short- and long-term goals while assessing risk, with a focus on sustainable, high-impact results. A true Project Manager you will oversee site activities and prioritise. You will use your communication skills to engage and influence, as well as network to build key relationships. You will also have: Practical knowledge of food hygiene standards in installations and machine designExtensive experience of leading multi-functional projects within the FMCG industryUnderstanding of HACCP principles backed by certification or prior experienceFamiliarity with lean manufacturing practices and the ability to implement efficiency improvementsCDM knowledgeContractor management experienceFinancial analysis capabilityStrong knowledge of HSE regulations, including PUWER, CE, COSHH, and machinery safety standardsQualificationsEngineering qualifications and proven experience in relevant disciplinesStrong knowledge of HSE regulations, including PUWER, CE, COSHH, and machinery safety standardsDemonstrable expertise in automation, Industry 4.0, and engineering standards for project executionExperience with WCM (World Class Manufacturing) methodologies or similar structured improvement frameworks.Additional InformationMore about Gousto and our Benefits here Gousto is for everyone:Whether it's creating diversity in our recipes or building new teams, we care about our people and the opportunities they have at Gousto.
