Graduate Process EngineerLocation: Birchwood Park, Risley, WarringtonDuration: 2 YearsClosing date for applications: 14th February 2026OverviewAs a Process Engineering Graduate at NUVIA, you'll join a two-year development programme that combines technical training with exposure to real-world nuclear projects, supporting your progress toward professional registration with the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE). From day one, you'll contribute to projects involving nuclear technologies such as decommissioning, commissioning, waste management, defence, and power generation, gaining exposure to the project lifecycle in highly regulated, safety-critical environments. Supported by experienced professionals and mentors, you'll develop practical skills in process systems design and build the technical expertise and professional behaviours needed for a successful career in the nuclear industry.As a Process Engineering graduate, your day-to-day tasks may include:Supporting the design and optimisation of process systems, plant layout and equipment selectionContributing to radioactive waste management strategies and process safety assessmentsProducing mass/energy balances and equipment sizing calculationsDeveloping process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)Producing technical documentation and specificationsEmbedding sustainability principles throughout delivery of engineering solutionsApplying theoretical knowledge to real-world challengesEngaging with the supply chainUsing digital engineering toolsEnsuring compliance with legislation, regulations and standardsCollaborating with multidisciplinary teamsAdditional OpportunitiesIntroduction to Nuclear courseMembership in NUVIA's Early Careers Group (ECG)Act as a STEM Ambassador in outreach activitiesNetwork through the Young Generation Network (YGN)Participate in industry competitions and awardsVisit nuclear sites and live projectsProfessional development training, including:o Professional Dialogue Skillso Report Writingo Commercial Awarenesso Foundational Project Management SkillsPreferred Degree DisciplinesApplicants should hold (or be on track to achieve) a 2:1 or above in one of the following or a related discipline:Chemical EngineeringWe're seeking graduates who are:Passionate about engineering and the nuclear industryAnalytical and detail-oriented problem-solvers, able to tackle complex challenges with precision and creativity.Excellent communicators and collaborative team players, confident in sharing ideas and working with colleagues across different disciplines.Adaptable and resilient, ready to embrace change and thrive in dynamic environments.Committed to safety, ethics, and continuous professional development, prioritising responsibility and lifelong learning.Willing to travel and work across multiple UK sitesWhy us?Nuvia - a subsidiary of VINCI construction - is an international company that operates across highly regulated sectors including Civil Nuclear and has a strong presence and history of delivery at nuclear sites in the UK and internationally.
