Enjoy a competitive hourly rate up to £22 per hour, long-term job security, enhanced overtime, and a genuine commitment to your wellbeing and career growth.As an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic, you'll be part of a friendly, close-knit workshop team maintaining and repairing a wide range of HGV trucks and trailers for a loyal customer base across industries. From MOT prep and diagnostics to full servicing, you'll take pride in delivering high-quality work with the support of a business that values its people and invests in modern facilities, training, and progression.What You'll Be DoingCarry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGV trucks and trailers.Prepare vehicles for MOT and complete diagnostic checks.Accurately complete all job-related documentation.Work collaboratively within a professional, safety-focused environment.Coaching and mentoring of junior colleagues, and setting a fantastic example with methods of working.What We're Looking ForProven experience as an HGV Technician including MOT and repairs.NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance or similar (or time-served equivalent).Experience mentoring and coaching junior colleagues and/or apprenticesKnowledge of modern diagnostic systems and repair methods.Full UK driving licence preferred (HGV Class 1 desirable).Must have your own tools.Current Working HoursMonday to Friday: 8am – 6pmAlternate Saturdays: 7am – 12pm (as business requires)Overtime: Paid at 1.5x after 47.5 hoursWhy Join Stockport Truck Centre?Competitive pay up to £22 per hour dependant on experience.Health & Wellbeing Programme.Company Pension Scheme.Annual performance bonus scheme.Referral rewards for recommending great people.20 days holiday + bank holidays (rising each year of service to 23 days).Secure, on-site parking and clean, well-equipped facilities.A family-run business that values loyalty, respect, and teamwork - not just numbers.At STC, people stick around because they're treated fairly, supported to develop, and part of something bigger.
