Job DescriptionContracts Manager – New Build Social HousingLocation: Preston, LancashireSalary: Competitive + Car/Allowance + BenefitsEmployment Type: PermanentIndustry: Construction / HousebuildingAbout the OpportunityOur client, a well-established and growing construction contractor, is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee multiple new-build social housing schemes across the Preston and wider Lancashire area. This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable business delivering high-quality, community-focused housing projects.Role OverviewAs Contracts Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of several live schemes, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the required standards. You will be a key point of leadership, supporting Site Managers, liaising with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring smooth project performance from pre-construction through to handover.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee multiple new-build social housing developments concurrentlyManage project programmes, resourcing, commercial performance, and quality standardsLead and support Site Managers and project teams, ensuring strong communication and problem-solvingMaintain excellent client relationships and attend progress meetingsEnsure adherence to health & safety procedures and company policiesWork closely with commercial teams to monitor budgets, variations, and cost controlsIdentify risks, drive solutions, and ensure projects meet contractual obligationsContribute to continuous improvement across the region’s operationsAbout YouProven experience as a Contracts Manager (or Senior Project Manager ready to step up) within the new-build housing sectorStrong background in social housing, affordable housing, or partnership housing deliveryAbility to manage multiple projects across the regionExcellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skillsSolid understanding of construction processes, regulations, and H&S standardsUK driving licence requiredWhat’s on OfferCompetitive salary packageCompany car or car allowancePension, holidays, and wider benefitsOpportunity to join a supportive, forward-thinking contractor with a healthy pipeline of work
