Our client specialises in delivering complex fire engineering design solutions that meet the highest standards of safety and innovation.We're seeking a Technical Director to join our client's newly appointed Director of Fire Engineering and Principal Fire Engineer, assisting in developing the fire engineering team, progressing innovative software-driven solutions, and delivering high-impact projects.You will have the opportunity to work from their brand new office in Birmingham, developing the fire engineering team, projects, and clients, shaping the division's future and driving real growth.They are committed to becoming one of the UK's most compliant and innovative fire engineering consultancies, working alongside the best technical fire engineering talent in the sector.Lead Innovation in Fire Engineering Software & SolutionsWith a turnover of £75 million and increasing, our client's Fire Engineering division currently generates £4 million, and is positioned for significant growth.They are proud to be developing one of the UK's leading fire engineering software packages, putting them at the forefront of innovation.You will assist in leading the Fire Engineering division with responsibility for strategy, delivery, and growth. You'll oversee the application and further development of the proprietary fire engineering software, as well as train and develop the team of fire engineers — helping to set new industry standards.With autonomy to shape your projects, team, and client relationships, you'll drive commercial success and technical excellence in a results-driven environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and own your fire engineering projects and client relationshipsTechnical development of the current fire engineering teamBuild, mentor, and manage a high-performing fire engineering teamDrive the adoption and enhancement of proprietary and industry-leading software toolsDeliver performance-based, compliant fire engineering solutions for complex projectsCollaborate with clients, architects, regulators, and software developersRepresent the company in technical forums and industry eventsContribute to business development and strategic growth planningFire Engineering profileDegree in Fire Engineering, Fire Safety, or related disciplineIdeally Chartered Engineer (CEng) or similar on track to achieve accreditation or qualified in a similar disciplineExperience managing in fire engineering or leadership rolesExperience working with or developing fire engineering software is a plusProven ability to grow and lead teams in a consultancy environmentCommercially aware, self-motivated, and entrepreneurial mindsetExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsPlease note that our client would consider a Principal Consultant or Associate Director with the ability to deliver this role.
