Job DescriptionWhat's the OpportunityWe have an opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor wishing to progress their career in a supportive environment to join our cost management team. You will become part of our dynamic and collaborative team working together to achieve team success in the Leeds office and across our business nationwide. You will work closely with senior members team supporting the delivery of a variety of projects, sectors, clients and significant projects with the value ranging from £1m to in excess of £20m.What you need to do to be effective in this roleAssisting with the day-to-day delivery of projectsBuilding relationships with clients, consultants and contractorsAssist with the preparation of cost estimatesEvaluate the cost of building designs and alternative proposalsAssist with the preparation, issue, evaluation and reporting of tendersAttending and being actively involved in client and contractor meetingsAdvise upon contract terms and the preparation of building contract documentationAgreement of monthly valuationsPreparation of monthly cost reportsValuing and agreeing post contract variationsAssist in the preparation and agreement of final accountsDevelop skills that will enable you to provide single point of contact taking responsibility for all aspects of a projectThe skills and experience you need to have for this roleRelevant degree in a quantity surveying, or similar, RICS accredited courseWorking towards MRICS status, or a desire to commenceExperience using Microsoft Office softwareExperience of relevant QS Software applications, CostX, Bluebeam etc…is desirableGood communication skillsExperience in report writingWe are looking for a team worker, who is outgoing, proactive, and personable.
