This means you'll need to be based within reasonable travel distance of the office and able to attend in person when business needs require - typically 3 days per week, though this may vary by team or project.About Sizewell CThe Sizewell C team is one of the most exciting and largest new megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK's climate change agenda and energy policy. We have begun constructing a 3.2-gigawatt nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast in the East of England replicating, wherever possible, the design used for Hinkley Point C, another nuclear power station being built in Somerset.When built, Sizewell C will be one of the largest power stations to operate in the UK. The power station will generate low carbon electricity for at least 60 years, supplying over 6 million homes and supporting around 7% of the UK's current electricity needs.Our vision is to Lead The Way On Nuclear. We want Sizewell C to define what good leadership for the nuclear industry and British infrastructure looks like and deliver on it. We understand the feats of organisation, logistics, collaboration and imagination that building nuclear requires. We are building for the next generation for their home-grown energy, energy price stability and ultra-low carbon power in abundance. We also want to set the benchmark for maximising long-lasting social value as we build and demonstrate how smart collaboration can work for the benefit of communities – locally, regionally and nationally.We are the first nuclear power station in the UK to be funded under the Regulated Asset Base funding model (RAB). The RoleAs Employment Compliance Manager, you'll ensure that all employment and contingent workforce processes at Sizewell C operate in full compliance with UK legislation, company policy, and project standards.You'll be the subject-matter expert on employment law, workforce governance, and immigration compliance, supporting our transition to an independent, fully compliant organisation. This role covers employees, embedded contractors, and non-embedded contingent workers - promoting consistent, fair, and lawful practice across the organisation.Key ResponsibilitiesLead compliance across employment legislation and workforce regulations (IR35, Agency Workers Regulations, TUPE, Working Time Directive, GDPR, Health & Safety, Visa Sponsorship).Manage SZC's Visa Sponsorship Licence and ensure full UKVI complianceOversee governance for contingent and embedded workers, including audits and risk assessmentsPartner with HR, Legal, Finance, and Procurement to ensure consistent application of governance standardsDrive continuous improvement in HR policies, processes, and systemsAct as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders and regulatory bodies What We're Looking ForEssential:Significant experience in IR35 employment compliance, workforce governance and HR operations in a complex, regulated organisation.In-depth knowledge of UK employment lawUnderstanding/ awareness of UK sponsorship process and immigration legislationStrong analytical skills and attention to detailExcellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skillsAbility to operate in a fast paced environment managing tight deadlinesDesirable:Knowledge of UK immigration legislationProven experience managing visa sponsorship complianceExperience in large infrastructure or energy projectsFamiliarity with HR systems (SAP, SuccessFactors, Fieldglass)Audit or compliance certificationsWhy Join Us?Be part of a nationally critical project shaping the UK's energy futureWork in a collaborative, forward-thinking environmentCompetitive salary and benefits packageOpportunities for career development and progressionIf the above sounds like you then we'd love to hear from youA full job description is available on application.
