Job DescriptionOncology Administrator | Oncology Department | Spire Parkway Hospital | Private Hospital | 23.5 hours per week, Part Time | Solihull | Excellent benefitsSpire Parkway Hospital are looking for an experienced Oncology administrator to join our Oncology department on a Part-time, permanent working contract for 23.5 hours per week.Spire Parkway Hospital in Solihull, West Midlands offers a comprehensive range of private hospital services. Our hospital is rated Good by the CQC for all parts of the inspection except for Patient Care, which is rated Outstanding. The report states, "Staff treated patients with compassion and kindness, respected their privacy and dignity, took account of their individual needs, and helped them understand their conditions. They provided emotional support to patients, families and carers."Our dedicated hospital team are passionate about excellent patient care and we offer a range of specialist treatments to patients across Birmingham, Warwickshire and the West Midlands. This includes diagnostic services, rehabilitation, cutting-edge surgical procedures and excellence in specialist fields like orthopaedics, women's health and cancer care. It also delivers a range of private and NHS mental health, musculoskeletal and dermatological services.Duties And ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and schedule inpatient admissions and outpatient appointments in collaboration with the Oncology MDT (Multi-Disciplinary Team). Organise and accurately minute Diagnostic Planning MDT meetings. Provide administrative support to the Oncology MDT & Planning Coordinator, including updating and maintaining patient records on Trust systems. Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders including clinicians, managers, administrative staff, GPs, patients, and their families, using written, verbal, and electronic formats. Independently manage appointment bookings in line with national and internal waiting time targets, using initiative to resolve scheduling challenges. Handle incoming telephone enquiries professionally and efficiently. Take proactive steps to identify and address potential delays in the cancer patient pathway, ensuring timely progression of care.Who We're Looking ForPrevious administration experience is essentialSomeone who is highly organised, accurate and works well to tight deadlinesKnowledge of Medical terminologyExperience working in a similar environment Must be a good communicator and have good computer literacySomeone who works well as part of a teamYou will need to be comfortable with the often-physical nature of the role – re lifting files up and down from shelves, moving file boxesStrong administrative skillsWorking Pattern: Chemotherapy Day Unit - Opening Hours Mon-Fri 0800-1800.
