Principal Structural Engineer - Advanced FEA & Structural AssuranceLocation: Surrey (Hybrid working available)Type: Permanent, Full-TimeSalary: £60-80K + Bonus + BenefitsOverview:A high-performance engineering consultancy is looking for a Principal Structural Engineer to lead structural analysis projects across aerospace, defence, and advanced technology sectors. This role offers technical depth, leadership, and the opportunity to shape structural assurance across a variety of complex programmes.Key Responsibilities:Lead FEA projects (linear, non-linear, thermal) on components and assembliesEvaluate analysis data and guide design modifications for performance, safety, and efficiencyConduct hand calculations and validate detailed modelsCollaborate with design and fluids teams to ensure integrated solutionsMentor engineers and support analytical governanceContribute to business development and proposal writingWhat You'll Bring:Deep expertise in FEA using tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or similarStrong understanding of materials (metallics and composites)Experience with structural assurance, fatigue, and thermal interactionChartered Engineer status (or working towards)Ability to lead, mentor, and communicate technical concepts clearlyBenefits:Hybrid working model with flexibility post-probationPrivate healthcare via Bupa (mental health and dental included)Twice-yearly bonus schemeCompany pension and life insuranceCPD support and mentoring towards advanced accreditationCycle to work schemeInclusive, close-knit team culture with regular social eventsIf you have the required skills and experience for this role, we invite you to apply by submitting your CV.
