Job DescriptionSEN Teaching AssistantLocation: Saltney & surrounding areasPay:£13.68Contract:Temporary/ Supply/Flexible HoursBenefits:Holiday Pay| Pension Scheme | Ongoing SupportWhy this role mattersSome pupils need more than a lesson plan to thrive - they need someone who notices when theyre overwhelmed, understands when words fail and celebrates the small wins others might miss.What youll be doingAs a SEN Teaching Assistant, youll be providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils with additional needs. Youll adapt learning activities, help manage behaviour, and provide calm, structured support during the school day.You'll help with:Supporting learning objectives tailored to individual targetsPreparing resources like visual timetables, communication tools, or sensory materialsSpotting early signs of anxiety or dysregulation and responding calmlyRecording progress and behaviour and feeding back to the teacher or SENDCoPromoting independence, confidence and participationWhat were looking forExperience working with children or young people, especially those with additional needsPatience, empathy and a calm, confident approachA relevant TA or SEND qualification is great, but not essential if you have the right mindset and experienceEnhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)A good working knowledge of safeguarding (or willingness to complete training with us)What youll get in returnFlexibility choose your working days and take school holidays offVariety work across different schools, year groups and with pupils with a range of needsSupport your own Account Manager whos just a call or message awayTraining access to free CPD including behaviour, autism awareness, and Team-TeachWeekly pay clear, consistent rates with no umbrella deductionsInterested?Send over your CV along and well arrange a short call, handle the checks, and help get you into schools where you can make a real difference.Excell Supply is REC-registered and an umbrella body for the DBS.
