Job DescriptionJob Title Senior Systems EngineerLocation Barrow-in-Furness & Sheffield – we offer a variety of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to the recruiter for more informationSalary £52,647 + (Commensurate with skills and experience)What you’ll be doingPrepare and/or oversee the definition of system requirements, the development of specifications and the preparation of complex and business critical engineering designs.Develop, maintain and control the technical interface to customers, suppliers and collaborators to ensure effective and swift resolution of technical issues and to deliver contractual commitments.Ensure that designs produced consider the Design Safety, Design for Manufacture assembly, dis-assembly and end of life processing, Design to cost and Design for reliability and maintainabilityValidation of any systems / equipment, which may include the generation of test schedules, test and integration plans and the writing/investigation of test problem reportsLiaison with internal and external stakeholders as necessary to discuss technical issues and problems resolving technical issuesYour skills and experiencesEducated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline, with a demonstrated background within an engineering environment.Experience in use of Systems Engineering tools and techniques, including requirements management , product safety and validation and verification techniques.A good understanding of mechanical, electrical and software principles and their interfaces.Good working knowledge of technical office process standards, standard instructions and drawing standards.Knowledge and experience of lifecycle processes and exposure to testing, trials and qualification of designs.BenefitsAs well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts – you may also be eligible for an annual incentive.The Weapon Systems UK Engineering Team:As part of BAE Systems Platforms and Services sector, Weapon Systems (UK) designs, develops, manufactures, and supports artillery systems, naval guns, and provides engineering capability to the wider BAE Systems business.
