Job DescriptionIT Support EngineerLocation: CheltenhamSalary: Up to £32,000 + benefitsOur client, a leading national services business, is hiring an IT Support Engineer to provide hands-on technical support to colleagues across the UK. This role offers the opportunity to keep business-critical systems running smoothly, while working with a broad range of technologies and stakeholders.What you’ll doProvide IT support by phone, email and in person on hardware, software, systems and databasesSet up desktop and laptop computers, ensuring systems are ready for use and correctly configuredDiagnose and resolve issues with PC and server hardware, network and internet connectivity, and telephone systemsSupport and troubleshoot Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2019/2022, Active Directory, SQL Server, SharePoint, Office 365 and key line-of-business applications (including ERP and time & attendance systems)Ensure safe disposal of obsolete equipment, consumables and waste materials in line with company procedures and legal requirementsTravel to UK sites as required (pool car provided) to deliver on-site support and project workYou’ll work closely with other IT team members, managers and internal customers to prioritise business needs, respond to monitoring alerts and ensure issues are resolved promptly and professionally.What we’re looking forExperience supporting PCs and laptops in a commercial environmentHands-on experience administering Active Directory domains and Windows Server operating systemsGood understanding of networking and connectivity troubleshootingStrong communication skills with an excellent telephone manner and clear written EnglishHigh attention to detail, accuracy and a methodical approach to problem solvingFull UK driving licenceDesirable:Awareness of ISO27001Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP platformsConfidence working with data in tools such as Excel or other statistical/analysis packagesThe ideal candidate will be proactive, customer-focused and comfortable juggling multiple priorities.
