Job DescriptionFlood Risk Engineer Are you looking for a role where your flood risk expertise genuinely shapes safer places and communities? This Flood Risk Engineer position gives you the chance to work on a wide range of development and infrastructure projects, with clear progression and flexible working to support your career and lifestyle. As a Flood Risk Engineer, you will be doing work that has real-world impact, including: ·Preparing Flood Risk Assessments for residential, commercial and mixed-use developments ·Producing drainage strategies and surface water management plans in line with current guidance and best practice ·Undertaking hydraulic and hydrological assessments using industry-standard software ·Liaising with the Environment Agency, Lead Local Flood Authorities and other consultees ·Supporting planning applications through technical input and responses to consultee comments ·Working closely with planners, engineers and other disciplines to deliver integrated solutions To be successful as a Flood Risk Engineer, you will bring: ·Experience in flood risk and drainage within a consultancy or local authority environment ·A solid understanding of UK flood risk policy, planning guidance and SuDS design ·Experience producing Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies ·Strong written communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly ·A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience ·Progress towards, or interest in working towards, professional accreditation (desirable) You will receive: ·A competitive salary, reflective of your experience as a Flood Risk Engineer ·Flexible and hybrid working arrangements ·Generous annual leave plus bank holidays ·Pension contributions and additional benefits ·Ongoing training and support for professional development This Flood Risk Engineer role is based in the Manchester office, with a flexible hybrid working model.
