Job DescriptionTest Development Engineer – Circuit Card TestLocation: Bolton (Hybrid – typically 3–4 days per week on-site)Salary: Up to £43,000Security Clearance: British citizenship requiredThe RoleAs a Test Development Engineer, you’ll join a collaborative team responsible for creating and maintaining small to medium-sized automated test systems. You’ll develop and implement test strategies, influence product design through “Design for Test” principles, and ensure all testing is robust, efficient, and aligned with specification requirements.This hands-on role involves the design of Interchangeable Test Adaptors – covering both mechanical and electrical aspects – alongside developing automated test sequences and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the function.Key Responsibilities• Develop and implement automated test solutions for circuit card assemblies.• Create test strategy documentation, schematics, and test specifications.• Design and develop Interchangeable Test Adaptors (ITA) and related interfaces.• Work with NI LabVIEW and/or TestStand to create automated test programs.• Support product design teams with Design for Test (DfT) activities.• Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and quality enhancements in test processes.Skills & Experience• Strong understanding of analogue and digital electronic circuit design.• Experience with technical documentation, schematics, PCB layouts, and engineering drawings.• Proven experience in the development of Automated Test Equipment (ATE).• Experience with NI LabVIEW and/or TestStand preferred.• Knowledge of Boundary Scan / XJTAG desirable.• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.• Experience with continuous improvement / Six Sigma methods advantageous.What’s on Offer• Competitive salary plus annual company bonus (up to £2,500).• Excellent pension scheme (up to 14% total contribution).• Flexible working arrangements with hybrid options.• Enhanced parental leave and flexi leave opportunities.• Fantastic on-site facilities including subsidised meals and free parking.Interested?
