Working under the Facilities Manager, you will help ensure the school site is safe, well-maintained, and fully operational every day.About the RoleWe are looking for a practical, reliable, and proactive individual who can respond efficiently to maintenance issues. The role requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Experience in a trade, building maintenance, or facilities management is highly desirable.You will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and inspiring environment, ensuring that staff and pupils can focus on learning and personal growth.Essential Skills and ExperiencePractical experience in a trade, maintenance role, or similar backgroundAbility to follow procedures and maintain high standardsCapacity to work independently and collaborativelyResilience and calmness under pressureStrong interpersonal and communication skillsHigh levels of discretion and respect for confidentialityDesirable SkillsExperience in an educational or school maintenance settingKnowledge of health and safety regulations and safe working practicesFirst Aid training or willingness to undertake trainingAbout usSmallbrook School is a co-educational day school based halfway between Shrewsbury and Wem in Shropshire.
