Mechanical Estimator

Job DescriptionAt Dornan we are currently recruiting for a  Mechanical Estimator to join an existing estimating team based out of head office in West London.Reporting to Estimating Lead , working alongside the commercial and construction team to provide    estimations and advice.As a commercial member of the team, the Estimator will be an exemplar ambassador for the company and its values; integrity, dependability, safety, pride, quality.Your day to day will include:To prepare and collate tenders and source pre-project information by a given deadline.To provide fast, accurate, competitive and profitable estimates from enquires stage to bid submissionTo follow up on submitted tendersTo analyse sub-contractor / vendor quotations and checking inclusions and exclusionsTo deal with clients at post tender meetings and conduct presentationsProvide support and assistance to the Estimating teamAttend tender and follow up meetings when requiredAll other reasonable tasks assigned to you from time to time from your managerWhat we are looking for:Detailed knowledge of the Estimating roleCommercial understandingBrief understanding of the Engineering systemsKnowledge of the teams strengths and weaknesseAbility to prioritise workloadRecognises own strengths and weaknesses and committed to ongoing developmentRoles and responsibilities:To prepare and collate tenders and source pre-project information by a given deadline.To provide fast, accurate, competitive and profitable estimates from enquires stage to bid submissionTo follow up on submitted tendersTo analyse sub-contractor / vendor quotations and checking inclusions and exclusionsTo deal with clients at post tender meetings and conduct presentationsProvide support and assistance to the Estimating teamAttend tender and follow up meetings when requiredAll other reasonable tasks assigned to you from time to time from your managerWhy Dornan?Our commitment to our employees development - we offer career progression pathways, always seeking opportunities to promote and upskill our people.Health & Wellbeing - Fostering health and wellbeing is paramount to creating a supportive and inclusive work environment.
