Job DescriptionFamily Legal Secretary – Leeds A highly regarded regional law firm is seeking an experienced Family Secretary to join its supportive and expanding Family Law team. You must have previous family law secretarial experience to be considered for this role. The firm is renowned for its friendly, inclusive culture and its genuine commitment to work-life balance. With offices across Yorkshire and the flexibility to work from either Leeds or Huddersfield, on a hybrid basis – this is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking practice that values its people as much as its clients.The Role:You will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the Family team, ensuring that clients receive a professional, efficient and empathetic service at all times. You will be an integral part of a busy department, supporting fee earners with case management and client communication while maintaining confidentiality and high standards of client care.Key Responsibilities:Audio and copy typing for fee earners using digital dictation in a busy and fast-paced environmentManaging incoming calls, liaising with clients, solicitors and external organisationsHandling mediation enquiries, opening new files and scheduling appointmentsPreparing correspondence, documents and court formsMaintaining accurate records and assisting with the creation of precedents and templatesParticipating in team meetings and contributing ideas for improving processesWorking collaboratively with the wider administration team to ensure smooth departmental operationsPerson Specification:Previous experience in a Family Law department within a law firm is essentialExcellent typing skills with experience of digital dictationConfident communicator with a professional and compassionate telephone mannerStrong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing workloadsProactive, efficient and able to use initiativeA team player with a positive, adaptable attitudeWhat's on Offer?Competitive salary, dependent on experienceGenuine flexibility with hybrid and family-friendly working arrangements25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, with additional days for long serviceAn extra day off for your birthday, plus two half days annually for Life AdminHealth care scheme and access to well-being supportTwo non-contractual annual bonusesPension schemeRegular social events, including family-inclusive gatheringsOpportunities for ongoing development and progression within a supportive environmentThe firm takes pride in being family-friendly, approachable and flexible.
