Job SummaryThis post will provide you with a good grounding in administrative work and the use of office procedures and equipment.There will be opportunities for you to find out about blood collection, the processes we undertake to ensure the blood is safe and the lifesaving products we make from our donations.Your essential role will directly contribute to saving and improving people's lives.This role is shift based for 66.64 hours per fortnight (on average 4 days per week).Shifts will be 8.33 hours per day. Shifts vary in times: on an early shift, the earliest start would be 07:30. On a late shift, the latest finish would be 19:45. Shifts may be any day including weekends and bank holidays.Main duties of the jobYou will be working as part of a team to ensure that enough donor appointments are booked to collect the required blood groups on a daily basis to ensure patient requirements are met.You will provide an outstanding level of customer service as the first point of contact for donors and visitors at the donor centre or via phone or email.You will be the expert user in a variety of computer-based applications, including established software packages (e.g. Microsoft Office) and internal software for which you will be trainedYou will provide a comprehensive administrative service to the donor centre to ensure the overall provision of a high quality and value for money service.About YouExperience and Knowledge Experience of maintaining extensive records in both paper and electronic format in a way that allows others to quickly retrieve informationExperience of working and complying with standard procedures and confidential informationExperience of working in a high paced, customer focussed environmentKnowledge of organising and prioritising a busy and varied workloadGood working knowledge of Information Technology, covering a range of Microsoft applications or equivalent packagesQualifications And TrainingEducated to NVQ level 3 in Customer Service, or equivalent experience.Demonstrate commitment to own Continued Professional Development (CPD)About UsIt takes all types of people to deliver the kind of service that saves and improves lives.
