London, United Kingdom Quantexa Full time

What We're All About. It isn't often you get to be part of a tech company that, since 2016, has been innovating the data analytics market in ways no-one else can. Our technology started out in FinTech, helping tackle serious criminal activity. Now, its potential is virtually limitless. Working at Quantexa isn't just intellectually stimulating. We're a real team. Collaborating and constantly engineering better and better solutions. We're ambitious, we think things through and we're on a mission to discover just how far we go. 41% of our colleagues come from an ethnic or religious minority background. We speak over 20 languages across our 47 nationalities, creating a sense of belonging for all. If our incredible culture sounds like you, we'd love you to join us.OpportunityYou'll be joining a team of Engineers working on Decision Systems, one of the key components of Quantexa's Decision Intelligence platform. Our users leverage the Quantexa platform to make decisions, and scoring is how we help them hone in on behaviours and patterns in their data that matter to those decisions. The Decision Systems team is responsible for this scoring capability, aiming to enable our users to quickly and easily identify important real-world insights, such as evidence of financial crime or suspicious activity, from their complex, interconnected datasets. The Decision Systems team has successfully released multiple versions of our packaged, vertical scoring solution covering three different Financial Crime use-cases so far. This solution provides pre-built, use-case-specific scores so users can quickly deploy a complete detection and alerting system without having to design their own rules, and we'll keep expanding to cover more of the many use-cases the Quantexa platform supports in future. The role is focused on Scala development within a skilled engineering team. Typical tasks in the team are:Improving risk detection coverage by adding new Scores to detect additional types of Financial Crime Building new tooling to allow users to configure detection logic more easily and effectively Enhancing the platform so that existing Scores can be applied across a wider range of scenarios Improving the performance of the system so even the largest datasets can be analysed efficiently Optimising the tooling and pipelines used by the team to deliver high-quality software, such as increasing automated test coverage in our build pipelines There are 3 different sub-teams within Decision Systems, each focusing on different areas across the scoring capability within Quantexa. Specifics of the remit and differences between these teams can be shared upon request.Stakeholder engagement is an essential part of this role, and you'll be working with our product team, delivery teams, clients and partners to design and build high quality solutions. You will be given the autonomy to see your tasks through the entire development life cycle, from requirements gathering all the way to software release, taking ownership of building new functionality that Quantexa projects will be using in the future. We have a great team culture, with regular socials and a strong presence in Quantexa's London office, whilst maintaining a flexible working policy allowing for regular home working.
