Then this is for you.We are part of the global company Yara International ASA and are a leader in the product development, manufacture and marketing of speciality nutrients & biostimulant products for use in regenerative agriculture worldwide.This role currently based in Pocklington but to meet business growth a new Global Production plant is currently being built in Howden, where the role will be based from mid-2026 onwards.We are seeking an Apprentice Quality Assurance Technician to provide support to the Operations department based, with a focus on Goods Inwards and being part of the team planning our manufacturer for a global business, that exports to over 60 countries.If so, the opportunity is here for you to learn practical skills and earn a salary whilst also studying for a qualification. The role will be based on site 5 days per week, with approximately 4 days per week practical work experience within the Quality Control laboratory and 1 day per week studying to gain the Quality Assurance Practioner apprenticeship.ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Quality Control Manager, the main responsibilities will be initially in a supporting role for the below tasks, with a development plan to own & lead over the coming 2 year course:Assist in issues relating to, quality incidents, non-conformances.Support in the production of KPIs on Quality assurance processes including Quality incidents , non-conformances, and customer complaints and monitoring these in the electronic log.Help maintain the QC departments documentation system and records in accordance with all appropriate regulatory requirements.Develop towards being the first point of contact in relation to requests from the regulatory affairs department.Provide quality support to the plant operations, as necessary.Support the plant trials procedure in relation to quality assurance.Assist in the process for third party analysis samples as per individual markets and regulatory requirements.Support to produce appropriate certification in relation to the registration and importation purposes for YaraVita and YaraAmplix tested product where required.Ensuring all associated paperwork is completed properly, accurately and on timeProfileThe ideal candidate will need English and Maths [grade 4 (C) or above] and should have:Good standard of IT literacyGood communication skills both written & verbal.Good problem solving skills.Good organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines and balance priorities.Discipline and self-motivation to balance the requirements of a challenging job and studying for a qualification.Additional InformationThis is an amazing opportunity to gain practical experience and a qualification at the same time.We will provide professional support and opportunity for the experiences required for passing the Quality Assurance Apprenticeship, which fits under 4 main headings of 1) Quality Planning, 2) Quality Assurance 3) Quality Control & 4) Continuous Improvement, with the full qualification learning plan detailed here to gain a level 4 Quality Assurance Practioner apprenticeship: Quality practitioner / Skills EnglandYara Offers An Attractive Rewards Package IncludingPrivate Health10% employer Pension ContributionsAnnual bonus schemeConfidential Employee Assistance ProgrammeInclusion & Wellbeing Activities (including football & badminton)On completion we would look to the successful candiate progressing to become the QA Lead Technician.Please note: If you have a degree/qualification in a smiliar topic/subject matter at the same level as the apprenticeship then you will not be eligible for this vacancy due to government funding requirements.Apply no later than9th January 2026Knowledge grows through differencesYara is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
